On December 10, 2021, a seminar "Strengthening the potential of pedagogical education - international experience" was held on the platform of the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - the Center).

About 300 representatives of the country's universities, the Ministry of Education and Science attended the seminar which was held in an online format.

The purpose of the seminar is to share the experience gained by academics of Kazakhstani universities in courses on the development of educational programs on the basis of the Finnish University of Applied Sciences Häme within the framework of the World Bank project "Strengthening the potential of pedagogical education."

It should be noted that the choice of Finland as a partner country is not accidental. According to the results of international studies PISA and TALIS, the pedagogical school and education system in Finland is one of the traditional leaders.

Zhumankulova E.N., vice-rector for educational and educational-methodical work of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, made a presentation on "Pedagogical education based on research." One of the main theses is that pedagogical education should not only be aimed at developing research skills, but should be penetrated, based on the spirit of research culture.

Oralkanova I.A., Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Shakarim University, made a report on the analysis of the world's best practices in special and inclusive education.

Baydildina A.M., Director of the Department of Designing Educational Programs of KazNPU named after Abai, finished the seminar with a report on "Competence-based approach in student-oriented learning."

The moderator of the seminar was the director of the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility Center, Moldakasimov.E.B.

The speeches of the speakers provoked a lively discussion among the participants of the seminar, who were unanimous in the idea that modern teachers should have erudition, be enthusiastic and be able to captivate students. It is necessary to improve the quality of educational programs of universities for implementing this idea. And the best foreign practices which must be studied and purposefully introduced into the country's higher education system, can really be helpful in it.
